Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Jaden Services collects through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website only. Buying at one of our counters is an ordinary in-person transaction.

The short version

This website is a product catalogue. There is no account to create, no cart, and no payment. You can read every page on it without telling us who you are. The only place we ask for personal information is the enquiry form, and we use what you put in it to answer you — nothing else. We measure how the site is used, in the ordinary way, with Google Analytics and a counter of our own. There is no advertising on this site, and we do not sell or trade anything we hold about you.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry

We ask for, and store:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address, if you choose to give one — it is optional
• Which of our two counters you prefer, if you tell us
• The message you write, and the product page you sent it from

We use this only to respond to your enquiry — to confirm price, stock and availability, and to get back to you. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing on the strength of an enquiry.

When you simply browse

Our hosting provider records standard technical information for every request — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. This is used to serve the site, keep it available, and protect it from abuse. We do not use it to identify you, and we do not build a profile from it.

Cookies and measurement

Three separate things on this site do some form of measurement. Only the first of them sets a cookie, so they are described one at a time.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how this site is found and used — which categories and products people look at, whether they arrived from a search, and which pages are worth the work of improving. It is how the catalogue gets written for the people actually reading it.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser, and collects:

• The pages you view, and in what order
• How you arrived — a search engine, a link from another site, or directly
• An approximate location, worked out from your IP address. Google uses the address for that and then discards it; it is not stored against your visit and we never see it
• Your device type, browser, operating system and screen size
• Whether this is a first visit or a return one

The cookies are first-party — set on this domain, and not readable by other sites. They last up to two years. Google handles this data as our service provider and processes it on servers outside Australia, including in the United States.

This site carries no advertising. We do not use Google Analytics to build advertising audiences, to retarget you anywhere else, or to personalise ads, and the property is not linked to an advertising account.

If you would rather not be counted: blocking cookies for this site, using a content blocker, or installing Google's own Analytics opt-out browser add-on will each stop it. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

Our own counting

When someone taps a phone number, taps a directions link, or sends an enquiry, we record that it happened, which counter it was for, and which page it came from. That is how we know whether the site is doing its job. It sets no cookie, and stores no IP address and no identifier of any kind — there is nothing in it that could be traced back to a person.

Spam protection

The enquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than an automated script. Your IP address is passed to Cloudflare for that check; we do not store it. Turnstile does not track you across websites.

Who else is involved

This website runs on Cloudflare, which hosts the site, stores enquiries, runs the spam check and delivers the pages to you. Google Analytics is provided by Google, as described above. Enquiry notifications go to our own email. That is the whole list.

We do not sell personal information, we do not rent or trade it, and we do not disclose it to anyone else except where we are required to by law.

Both Cloudflare and Google operate global networks, which means data may be processed on servers outside Australia.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while they are useful for serving you and for our ordinary business records. If you would like an enquiry deleted, ask us and we will remove it. Analytics data is held by Google for the retention period set on our account, and deleted by them at the end of it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you can raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page.
